Cross Country:20.04.2015

Last Monday pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part the final exciting cross country races of the season at Llanharan Primary School.

Conditions were a lot more pleasant compared to our last outing, but the course was challenging including a very steep uphill climb in the grounds of the school.

The second entry from our Year 4 pupils and they did superbly well again, trying hard most children improved on their position from the first race. I look forward to seeing you in action next year.

Year5 and 6 did equally well and we had several top 10 finishes again, including JM-H winning his third race of the season and his sister EM-H finishing in an equally impressive third place.

I am pleased to say that we will be hosting one of the cross country races during the next school year and hopefully we can attract a lot more children to enter. Here are some photos from the final event:

JM-H managed to finish third overall despite the fact we were unable to enter all of the seasons events. He would have won easily if he had completed one more race - we will plan our calendar carefully next year to ensure we can enter them all!! We also managed to finish 3rd in the overall Yr 4 boys and 3rd in the overall Y5/6 boys events. In the overall result, we finished 4th out of the 8 schools that entered, with Dolau Primary winning the overall championship.
So a big well done to the team for their efforts, but we will have our eyes on that trophy next year!!

Thank you to all the parents for your support transporting the children to allow them to compete, I look forward to entering next years races.
