Cross Country 2nd March 2015: Pontyclun

This afternoon pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in some exciting cross country racing on the playing fields adjacent to Pontyclun Primary School.

In difficult conditions (cold weather and a very muddy field) all the children did themselves proud representing themselves and the school.

A first ever entry from our Year 4 pupils and they did superbly well, trying hard to the end in the tricky conditions, with a bit of practice they will be even stronger! We even had a top 10 finish from JB from Caerau who managed to finish in second place, an incredible effort for his first time around.

Some equally impressive performances in the Y5 / 6 races. The dynamic duo brother and sister EM-H and JM-H both from Tryfan finishing in respective second and first places, bendigedig!! Some other strong running in upper KS2 as we had all of the other girls finish inside the top 20 including two top ten finishs! The boys also managed three top ten finishes and six finished in the top twenty.

I believe there is another event fixtured for April so I will  ensure we manage to sneak some practice time in before that event to try and improve even further on todays impressive performances!!

A big da iawn to all to took part and thank you to parents, grandparents and friends who provided transport for the children and stayed to offer support.
